چکیده

In this paper two different Gm-C chopper amplifiers, aimed for signal amplification in implantable devices are presented. The first one is a pre-amplifier for ENG signals that was fabricated in a 1.5 μm technology. Measurements of this amplifier showed input noise of 1.2 nVHz and 2.5 μV offset with a power consumption of 28 mW. The second is a complete amplifier for EEG signals designed in a 0.35 μm technology. This amplifier, currently being fabricated, has 1 μVrms input noise in the 0.5 to 100 Hz band, at only 1.2 μW of power consumption.

Dynamic Offset Cancellation Techniques for Operational Amplifiers

At low frequencies, offset, 1/f noise and drift are the dominant error sources of operational amplifiers. This is especially true in CMOS technology. This chapter reviews precision techniques that can be used to achieve low 1/f noise and low offset in operational amplifiers. There are three types of CMOS offset cancellation techniques: trimming, chopping, and auto-zeroing. Trimming is usually p...

Application Note 79 IC Preamplifier Challenges Choppers on Drift

Since the introduction of monolithic IC amplifiers there has been a continual improvement in DC accuracy. Bias currents have been decreased by 5 orders of magnitude over the past 5 years. Low offset voltage drift is also necessary in a high accuracy circuits. This is evidenced by the popularity of low drift amplifier types as well as the requests for selected low-drift op amps. However, until n...

Low Noise Front-End Amplifier Dedicated to Monitor Very Low Amplitude Signal from Implantable Sensors

This paper describes a low-noise, low-power and lowvoltage analog front-end amplifier integrated in implantable electronic devices and dedicated to very low amplitude signal acquisition. Low noise and low DC offset are obtained by means of Chopper Stabilization (CHS) technique. In addition, due to adding a rail to rail input stage, low power supply (1.8V) and wide common mode input range (0-1.8...
